LACE BORDER MAGIC

Another quite amazing set of cookies designed by Tunde Dugantsi, the tutorial is in her Club Cookie Academy this month (click here to join).

To be absolutely honest, when I have these cookies in front of me, I feel absolutely thrilled because a few years ago I could not even dream of attempting so much detail in a cookie. When you break up the process, it is not too complicated, but I won’t lie: intimidating is the first word that comes to mind. Tunde’s video tutorial is flawless and if you take your time and exercise patience, you can make them.

First, you’ll need Royal icing transfers (she provides all templates, they were actually from a previous class in 2022), and hexagon-shaped cookies, iced the day before you add all the details with fine line piping.

Then it is a matter of adding the transfers and all the fine line piping. Some steps shown below.

I am really totally in love with this set…

Tunde used darker cookies and I think I should have done that to showcase the light color of the piping better, or maybe used a slightly darker tone for the icing. But other than that, I would do them all over again in a heartbeat.

I find it hard to choose a favorite, but maybe a tie between these two…

Tunde, thank you once again, you outdid yourself with this magical tutorial!
