Summer has so much cool stuff, and watermelons are definitely a big part of it… Today I share a few designs inspired by this colorful fruit that, in case you haven’t tried yet, also works amazingly well in salads (check out a version here), and in a refreshing sorbet (click here).

Pink, green, white: bright colors that scream Summer Fun!
ONESIES

Super simple, flood with watermelon color (red + pink + touch of yellow). Let it set. Add details with thick consistency electric green, and seeds with brown. You are done!
HAPPY WATERMELON SLICES

Start with a line of green, then a line of white to make the rind. Flood with pink. Let it set. Add details with piping consistency black, food pen (for eyebrows and dark green details on the rind), red luster powder for the cheeks, and of course, a little fondant bow with the mandatory bling of gold!
WATERMELON DRESS

This design was inspired by Amber (check her cookie club here). I made a few modifications, but her basic idea is there: wet on wet watermelon slices for the body of the dress.

Later I added the outline and seeds with food safe pen. The corn kernel shape was used to showcase the colors, as I had some leftover icing from this project.

I love this set, and hope they brought a smile to whoever received the cookies…
