Or, maybe I should say it “was” in the air? Nah, still is. As I mentioned, I ran out of time to share all the cookies I’ve made under the Valentine’s spirit, so today you get one set that is super dear to my heart. This was the second online class offered by Sonja and I loved every minute of it. You can still get it by clicking here. I cut all the cookies by hand using the templates she provided, so no acquisition of cutters was needed.

Now you tell me: isn’t that THE cutest Valentine’s set ever? As usual, I do not share details of paid online classes because it would be unfair to the instructor. Let me just say this set relied heavily on Royal icing transfers: they were use for all the heart shapes, as well as the nose of the little bear.
The one below was maybe my favorite cookie of the whole set, and the most intimidating because it required piping a full phrase with a word in cursive. Scary stuff! I ended up making it twice, as I was not too happy with my first version. Sonja demonstrated how to transfer the image if you do not own a projector. I used two different methods, and the projector was the best for me.

The amount of detail in these cookies is truly something! I loved the technique she devised for the cloud in the central cookie of the picture below. And the texture on the bear’s skin is wonderful. In fact, similar to the previous online adventure in which we made Christmas felt ornaments (click here for a flashback)

Another favorite is this simple but incredibly elegant heart…

I envision many other cookies with a similar decoration… Huge thank you to Sonja for yet another great online class. I would consider this medium to advanced, but her instructions are flawless and even if you are a beginner in cookie decorating, she will help you make those happen in your kitchen.
