I will have to speed up a bit my posting to accommodate all the Valentine’s Projects that took place in the past few weeks. Today I share a set of cookies that celebrate one of my favorite colors, Dusty Rose. I find it so elegant and soothing to the eyes…

Although I cannot deny being influenced by images from Pinterest ad Instagram, these designs were made on my own. The heart was not complicated at all, I eyeballed the sections, piped first the ruffled edge, then the bottom pink with wet-on-wet polka dots. Finally the white region, one at a time. Made a little fondant decoration and added the details with piping consistency Royal icing.

The cupcakes were also pretty simple, starting with the ruffled top, the the different areas flooded. Sprinkle hearts for the details in two of them, just polka dots for the third. After flooding the top in stages, the cookies were allowed to set and the final piping details added later.

Another design that I tried after seeing similar versions on Pinterest required just flooding with pink, and piping around the edges.

I love the way this set goes together, and hope they will bring a smile to whoever gets them. They will be donated right on Valentine’s Day, which is a very happy coincidence, don’t you think?
