These designs are courtesy of Haniela, you can learn exactly how to make them by watching her recent lives clicking here and here. I love them both, cannot quite decide which one is my favorite. Total cutie pies in cookie shape!

Both designs are made from the classic snowman cookie cutter shape, either the whole body or just the head. Details are everything, as so often is the case with Hani’s artwork.

.

One of the details that makes this cookie special is the addition of leaves made from wafer paper on the hat. Haniela used colored wafer paper, I only have white, so I painted portions with different colors using a food safe pen, and cut the shapes with a tiny punch cutter. The rest of the cookie is quite straightforward, pipe the bottom and top parts in sections, the face, and the hair, add the details. Nothing too complicated and being a scarecrow, small imperfections are part of its nature… Don’t let it scare you (bad pun more or less intended).

Here is the final cookie, with all the details tied together…

DESIGN #2

I adore this little face! The flower was made with fondant painted gold. Eyes were black PME pearls (they don’t bleed), and all the other details are piped with Royal Icing. Some steps shown below…

This is really not hard to decorate, if you take your time and adjust the consistencies correctly (thicker for hair and purple strands on the hat). Then let it all dry and add the nose, mouth, finally a blush on the cheeks with luster powder and some tiny little black dots near the nose. Your babies will be ready to scare all crows away!
