I am totally in love with The Honey Bee mold from Artesão Cookie Molds (order info here). I had some cookie dough in the fridge when the package arrived in the mail, and jumped into work right away. First I baked light cookies and had some fun painting them with Sugarprism.

This was a bit of a labor of love, but I enjoyed the process, which I show below. I used several different colors and also mixed them together to get even more variety. Lipstick Red, Yellow, Orange, White, Black, and Green, all came together to play. The center of the flowers got the gold treatment because… bling is life.

Next, I used the mold to bake chocolate-chipotle cookies, the recipe has no leavening agent so it retains the impression nicely.

To decorate, I opted for an easier path, just painting with Blush Gold from Crystal Color + vodka.

Honestly, I don’t know which version I prefer, but definitely using a single color to paint the details is a lot easier. At any rate, this mold has a special place in my heart!
