FUN WITH FLORALS

No tutorials this time, just a few cookies I made on my own, inspired by drawings and paintings from all kinds of sources. The first design relies on Royal icing piping, the others are all made with food safe pens, and a projector, starting from images found online.

For this particular design, I used a recipe for Royal icing that is supposed to give a good “puffed” structure. You can find it here at Pam Anderson’s youtube channel. I do not include white food gel when I make mine, and tend to eye-ball the corn syrup. The key step is whipping it for the full 6 minutes.

This cookie starts with flooding, trying to make a wavy outline for the basic flower shapes.

Once that is done, allow it to fully set, the add the extra icing to make the petals. Then the center that will be painted with gold luster powder and vodka later.

It is actually quite simple but ends up super elegant, don’t you think? Moving on three designs that need just a basic flooding (I used white with the tiniest drop of yellow), then the food projector and some food safe pens.

BLACK AND WHITE

A black food safe pen with fine tip is used for the lines in the petal, the rest of the drawing uses a pen with larger tips.

BLUE FLOWERS

MODERN FLOWERS

Maybe my favorite of the drawing set, I like the modern look, and of course, green and yellow are the colors of Brazil! It all starts with painting the basic regions and then just adding the black outline.

The full set of nine…
