For the Love of Cookies

This set is fighting hard for the First Prize of Most Fun Cookie Set of 2023… They were made following an online lesson with Anne Yorks, from The Flour Box. All her classes can be found in their website (click here). Many of her tutorials are available for free in youtube, make sure to check them out.

I just love these cookies so much! The full set is four cookies, the three above and a milk shake jar which is the most involved, and the only one that required a little template to draw the design before piping. Everything available in the PDF document you download with the online class.

So many details, but if you have some experience piping lines you can definitely make them without too much trouble. The instructions online are perfect, the video goes at a nice pace but of course you can always pause if needed. Below some of the steps in this colorful adventure…

The comic style is everywhere these days, cakes, macarons, cookies… I love it! You basically work with a black outline, flood with white and bright colors, and then make the outline even more prominent by adding additional details in black.

I am totally in love with this technique, and hope to incorporate it in different cookie shapes.
